Motorola Rival Available Now At Verizon Wireless For $99.99

Verizon Wireless doesn’t have the Palm Pre or the iPhone 3G S, but the carrier now features the Motorola Rival, a slider cellphone with a full QWERTY keyboard. The Motorola Rival also features a so-called Touch Key interface, Visual Voicemail, GPS, backlit to the QWERTY keys, and a 2-megapixel camera.

The Motorola Rival features email, IM apps like AOL, Windows Live Messenger, and Yahoo! Messenger, VZ Navigator which can be used for turn-by-turn GPS, a 3.5mm headset jack, and an optional 8GB microSD card.

Motorola Rival is available in Silver and Red or Purple and Black touches at the Verizon Wireless website for a price of $99.99 after a $50 MIR and with a two-year commitment. The VZ Navigator is available for $2.99 per month, the Visual Voicemail for $2.99, while the V CAST Music with Rhapsody (with DRM-free music) is available for $14.99.

Although it cannot be compared to the aforementioned Palm Pre and iPhone 3G S, Motorola Rival is a decent phone, it comes at a decent price, with a decent Verizon subscription. We are going through a recession, and it’s hard for many of us therefore we can consider cheaper cellphone and let the big guys wait for a while.
