A few days ago both Verizon Wireless and Sprint launched the BlackBerry Tour 9630 teaser websites, however, they didn’t announce a release date or specs. RIM as half-a-savior by releasing the official full specs and saying that the new BlackBerry smartphone will become available sometime in July, but this is not enough for us and we want to know the official release date. The rumors are saying that the BlackBerry Tour will be released in mid-July for a price of $199.99 after a $150 MIR as announced by Sprint.
Well, the rumors might be true as according to an inside memo from Telus, the BlackBerry Tour 9630 will be launched on July 15. The Canadian carrier will sell the BlackBerry smartphone for CAD $249.99 or US $220 for a three-year commitment and subscribers will have to choose at least a $20 voice plan with a $15 data plan. If you don’t want a new contract then you will have to pay CAD $449.99 (but you will still have to prolong your current deal for three years) while no contract means that you will have to dig deep into your pockets and find CAD $649.99.
The BlackBerry Tour 9630 is a really great smartphone, but I don’t know if you should pay so much money for it, and so much money for the voice and data plans. There are all rumors, but the most important thing is that the BlackBerry Tour might be launched on July 15.
