From now on Chicago citizens and visitors will have the opportunity to live an incredible experience as the Sears Tower has unveiled its glass balconies at the 103rd floor. The glass balconies will offer a view that will probably take your breath away, unless you faint after you make the first step and look down at the city. The balconies are made entirely of glass, and they were built on the Skydeck at 1,353  feet in the air.

If you are going to walk on the transparent floor, and look over the transparent walls and ceiling, you will have the impression that you are floating. Chicago is a wonderful city, and Sears Tower is a great building, and the balconies will make them look even better. The glass balconies were nicknamed The Ledge, and I must say that I would be very scared to “float” over the city. I bet it’s one of the most incredible views in the world.

The Sears Tower’s balconies can withstand up to five tons, and they are made of 1.5-inch thick glass. The Ledge offers an amazing view over the Chicago River on the west side of the building, and it will be open to the public as of today so get up early head over to the building and you won’t regret waking up this morning.

I remind you that this summer will be last of the Sears Tower. No, the building will not be demolished, it will change its name into Willis Tower, and will be renovated thanks to a $350 million five-year plan that will see the structure “get” wind turbines, solar panels, and roof gardens.
