Several days ago Nokia and Intel announced a partnership which will see both parties developing a revolutionary mobile computing device. Well, we are not buying this and we might be true as inside sources are reporting that Nokia will release an Android smartphone at the Nokia World event in September this year.

Nokia is looking to increase their smartphone sales, and the Symbian S60 platform is not exactly what users are looking for, while Android is exactly what people are looking for. The Android is a pleasure to handle, and it will become even better, while Symbian is slightly improving. The Nokia World conference would be a perfect time to release a new smartphone, and Intel will be welcomed to show up at the party.

Could Intel be ready as soon as September? I think they could. Nokia in combination with Intel and Google can develop one hell of a smartphone that would revolutionize the market. I don’t think an Intel-powered Nokia Android smartphone could be worse that the BlackBerry Storm which was sold in more than one million units so far.

Nokia is doing just fine, but the company would like to do better. Intel can develop good chips for a smartphone, while Android is just great as it is now. Well, this is only a rumor, but I cannot wait to see who’s invited at the Nokia World event in September.
