Sony Vaio W, Or Just Another $500 Boring Netbook

I think that netbook manufacturers are still not getting it. They just don’t understand. They release netbooks like crazy that nobody buys. I am sure that many netbook makers are not doing too well because there are too many devices on the market and they are all the same. The only thing that matters is the price, and who’s gonna buy this crap? Sony has just announced the Vaio W netbook which comes in three flavors: Berry Pink, Cocoa Brown, and Sugar White.

The Sony Vaio W Netbook features a 10.1-inch LED backlit screen with a 1366 x 768 resolution, 1.6GHz Intel Atom processor, 160GB HDD (without having the possibility to go for a SSD), 1GB of RAM, Bluetooth, 802.11b/g/n, VGA-out, 2 x USB 2.0 port, 10/100 Ethernet, a webcam, SD card reader, and Windows XP.

What I hate about this thing is the fact that there are no 3G and GPS options, the aforementioned SSD, and an optical drive. This is a netbook guys which means that I’m going away from home when I use it therefore I need more means of communication. Also I’m tired of Windows XP. It sucks. Why can’t you design a better OS? I can’t wait for Android netbooks. Google’s OS will definitely rock the house. I advice you not to buy any netbooks. Please stop buying this stuff and netbook makers will see that they are crap. Just wait until a better OS shows up, or Android.

Anyway if you’re interested in the Sony Vaio W Netbook then you should know that it will be available sometime in August for a “mere” $500. I thought you should know this.
