GPush For iPhone Brings GMail Push Notifications If Apple Approves It
The lack of push notifications apps is a real drawback for many iPhone users. Now that the iPhone 3GS packed with iPhone OS 3.0 is here, Apple should really “push” developers to bring push notifications to the smartphone. Last week we’ve seen Beejive 3.0 with push notifications, however, this is not enough. You can get push email thanks to MobileMe, but there are many people who would love to see the feature for Gmail. Well, the wait could be over and all Apple has to do is to approve the application.
GMail push notifications could become real thanks to an iPhone app called GPush that was submitted for approval. GPush will let you know every time you receive a new message. You might be worried if you receive a lot of emails, but the app will prove to be very useful. If you are an iPhone user then you have to install the app, then enter your username and password, and you will not have to enter the app ever again.
GPush will work on your iPhone via IMAP IDLE, just like push GMail works on the Palm Pre and its WebOS, and Android smartphones. The app was developed by Tiverias, and if will be approved then it will cost you are mere $0.99. We should here more soon so stay tuned!
