Google Chrome OS Partners Announced: Desktops, Handhelds, Netbooks, and Flash In The Making
The announcement that Google is working on a new OS caught us by surprise. Actually, we weren’t prepared for the Google Chrome OS, but we can’t say that we’re sorry as we really like the stuff that Google does. Not all of them, but hey we gotta give these guys someĀ applause. Now that the new Google operating system is a certainty, the company has made available the list with their partners and you’ll be surprised to see who’s missing from the alliance.
Here is the full list with the Google Chrome OS partners: Acer, Adobe, Asus, Freescale, Hewlett Packard, Lenovo, Qualcomm, Texas Instruments, and Toshiba. So where are Dell and Intel? Who knows!? From the list we can tell that the Google Chrome OS will run on desktops, netbooks, handhelds, and it will feature heavy Flash support. Although we knew that Google’s new OS will be available for full-scale PCs, handhelds, and netbooks, we didn’t know that Adobe Flash will be so important for it.
If Qualcomm and Texas Instruments are present then we know where the handhelds will get their chips, but if Intel or AMD are not there then… Maybe Intel shouldn’t be considered a partner as you don’t need a partnership to get Intel’s chips, but you never know what is really going on. Well, this list can change and Dell could show up, but Sony is also missing. I guess we should wait until the fall when more info will be released.
