Apple Releases Safari 4.0.2 For Download
Apple has updated the Safari browser, and users can download now Safari 4.0.2 for Windows XP and Windows Vista, Mac OS X Leopard, and Mac OS X Tiger. If you want to download Safari 4.0.2 then you can head over to the special Safari download page, or hit the Software Update and get it from there. In the release notes Apple said that the update addresses two (minor/major) security vulnerabilities, and an impreoved Nitro JavaScript engine.
The first security vulnerability fix addresses an issue with the WebKit’s way of handling of the parent and top objects in a cross-site scripting attacks if a user visits a malicious website. The second security vulnerability fix addresses a memory corruption issue with the WebKit’s way of handling numeric character references. If a user was visiting a malicious website then an unexpected application termination or arbitrary code execution could have happened.
With the 4.0.2 update Safari’s Nitro JavaScript is now more reliable and faster.
