Google is celebrating today the birthday of Nikola Tesla, a Serbian born scientist well known for his contributions in electricity and magnetism research. Tesla has developed and improved technologies we use today.

He formed the basis of AC ( alternating current ) electric power systems and the AC motor. The scientist died at the age of 86, in 1943, and he is also known for helping the Second Industrial Revolution with his researches in electricity and magnetism.

Nikola Tesla was born on July 10th, 1856 and has studied at the Austrian Polytechnic in Graz, then worked for the National Telephone Company in Budapest, Hungary. Later he moved in the US and established Tesla Electric Light & Manufacturing, his own company.
