Asperger’s Syndrome Not Enough To Stop Hacker Gary McKinnon’s Extradition

Gary McKinnon is one of the most popular hackers in the world after breaking into US military computers looking for UFO proof. Today, his appeal against extradition to the US was denied meaning that he will be sent to the US where he will be put to trial. Hacker Gary McKinnon could face up to 60 years in a prison with high-security levels. The British High Court denied to refuse the sentence of Keir Starmer, the Director of Public Prosecutions, of the 43-year-old hacker who will be extradited to the US.

Hacker Gary McKinnon admitted that the hacked into 97 US military computers, and leaving a message which said “I will continue to disrupt.” Although the UFO eccentric is sick, Alan John, the British Home Secretary, will not prevent the extradition. The British hacker admitted hacking into US Defense Department and NASA computers in the search for UFOs. According to the US Government, the repairs cost $700,000, and that the actions were deliberate, not hacking experiments.

There is no turning back now even if McKinnon suffers from the Asperger’s syndrome. Also Janis Sharp, Gary’s mother, led a campaign in order to save him from extradition because if he receives a 60-year sentence in jail, she would never see him again. Although the Free Gary Campaign was successful, and received a lot of support from high-profile celebrities there is no going back now, and hacker Gary McKinnon will be extradited to the US.

The defendant contested the decision by saying that the extradition will have serious consequences like psychosis and suicide attempts because of his medical condition.

As far as I can tell, I know that he suffers from the Asperger’s condition therefore I don’t think he should be extradited to the US. Gary McKinnon is a very ill person, and all I’m saying is that extradition to the US will cause him even more damage.

  • surely if he knowingly did it he should face usa courts

  • Don’t be so naive. He did nothing wrong. The information he was looking for should have been made public anyway. Why are we not allowed to know the truth. Why does our government keep any secrets from us for that matter? Are we incapable of knowing the truth? Are they superior in some way or have they received special training to deal with truth? Come on. The man didn’t commit murder, he’s not a pedophile and he didn’t do anything wrong. Why should he be sent to prison for 60 years.

  • McKinnon should definately not be extradited to the US. He could and should be tried for the alleged offence in the UK. I don’t agree with J Smith that he did nothing wrong. However, if he were to be tried in the U.S. and found guilty he faces a sentence that could possibly amount to life, which is totally disproportionate to the so called ‘crime’. If he were to face trial at home he would be treated much more leniently, and I suspect humanely.

  • Instead of prosecuting him, they should thank him for showing how inadequate their security measures were … then sack their IT security people!!

  • I agree with mick Consultants contracted to inform the usa military of there security position would have charged more and apparently achieved less.
Yes of course he did wrong but 60 years is quite redicolous.
First of all american military should bare some of the blame for being hackable that should be nye impossible and certainly not one man 3000 miles away with a simple pc, come on amaerican government you are definitely partly to blame.
Hopefully someone in a position of power with some sense (not a common situation i know but there has to be one surely) will sort this redicolous situation.

  • Don’t do the crime if you can’t do the time. Extradite him.

  • I’m sorry, but having Asperger Syndrome is no defense.

I am one of three people with the condition in my immediate family (in my case, with 57 of 70 listed symptoms). We may exhibit the social skills of a Nazgul with saddle sores, but every one of us is capable of telling right from wrong, when it comes to ethics and morality.

His mother’s attempt to excuse him shows where the real fault lies-a parent who failed in her responsibility to raise her son right (Don’t try to use the difficulty of dealing with it, either. Even without knowing what she was dealing with, my Mom managed fairly well).

The claim that the stress of extradition my lead to psychosis and suicide is another crock of bilge.

Gary McKinnon is another Phil Gluyas (see the real phil gluyas blog). And Phil’s world and about 2000 other sites where this Gluyas maniac who FEINGS ASPERGERS—terrorizes the internet, especially people raising severely autistic children. A real sick man. Just like McKinnon, Gluyas tried to use his “I’m an aspergers” defense, after he attacked people, and two shrinks said he “had a personality disorder” NOT aspergers. Google Phil Gluyas and Australian Post or Phil Gluyas and Autralian Federal Court personality disorder. Dear God, what next? Also see the You Tube video: “autism epidemic out of control” which exposes how people are using the autism label and they are total frauds! CNN did a report on an Amanda Baags and she wasn’t even autistic. She was a chick who did a whole lotta LSD and then went nuts and started posting you tube videos of her supposed autism! And the dullard stupid media bought it! How embarrassing for CNN.
