Nothing Bad Is Actually Happening On September 2
After hacking into the Time magazine’s Top 100 most influential people in the world, 4chan users are making just another “fun” thing. Moot being now the most influential person in the world, 4chan users are trying to spread public fear by posting messages which say that something bad is going to happen on September 2nd. Some 4chan users started this thing, and they’re encouraging people to tweet special warnings and include the #sept2nd hashtag in their updates.
You should remain calm and don’t be too affected by this Twitter spam as nothing bad is going to happen on September 2. In order to support the cause, the 4chan users also made a video with 9.02.09 for YouTube, and then submitted it to Digg. Also they’re encouraging everyone to write 9/02/09 on everything and everywhere, and even to spam Google with 9.02.09. I dunno how popular this will become, but one of my colleagues has already asked me if the end of the world is coming, but he doesn’t have a clue of what 4chan really is.
I don’t know if it’s legal to spread public fear, but this is the only reason 4chan users are doing it: because they think it’s fun to scare everyone. #Sept2nd is still a trending topic on Twitter, and it seems like there are a lot of people scared of what could happen on September 2nd. Hopefully, this thing will end soon as I’m already tired of it.
Update: Things are getting crazy here as the 4chan users also created a website with a special countdown to September 2. I repeat: please stay calm as nothing bad will really happen.

Well I’m not a person to believe in all this sort of shit, and it could well be (probably is) a 4chan ‘attack’.
If it is, it was a good idea, could have worked well had they let less people know about it…
But I still don’t have proof on who started it. It seems the media feels that blaming 4chan for every internet related attack is all the craze.

my workplace (internet security firm) has actually tried to trace this, since 4chan has been known to attack websites before. while i can confirm postings on 4chan relating to “getting the word out,” my company has also been entertaining the theory that this is some sort of attempt to falsely cause people to believe nothing will happen – in other words, a thread designed to make it appear as if 9/02/09 is nothing, when in fact 4chan users have something planned for that date which they wish to remain hidden. i would advise staying vigilant, and avoid using the internet on that date until it’s clear nothing is happening. better safe than sorry after all…

Here’s a thought, now before I continue, I’d like to say I personally asked members of your Legion what Anonymous was all about and what were they were trying to achieve; as their response they all replied “We do not forget, We do not forgive, We are legion.” But here’s the catch I received a response from one stating that this group is “communistic and rebellious”. They didn’t hack it. They are known for mass flooding of anything on the internet. They are bigger than you think and reach world wide, the site is from Japan. Time released a statment on the matter saying they didn’t hack. He won by 90% of the vote for a reason. All internet trends start there and die there. All memes come from there.
