There is only one answer for the “what’s the best Android smartphone ever?” question: the HTC Hero. Previously we’ve said that the HTC Hero is getting an update and that it’s rumored to come to the US via Sprint. Personally, I think, and I know I’m not the only one who says it, that the Hero is kinda slow. Don’t get me wrong like the before: I didn’t say that it’s too slow, I just said that the HTC Hero is somewhat slow “thanks” to the HTC Sense UI. The Hero would need more ROM and RAM, but we’ve seen a video with an update which shows that the smartphone could be a whole lot better and faster with some tweaks. Nevermind that as the update is at least two months away.

Let’s get back to the part that really concerns us. Engadget received an anonymous picture from tipster which shows that the HTC Hero is heading to Sprint soon. Both Sprint and HTC declined to comment way too many times, and none of the companies admitted that the smartphone will go to the US. However, we can proudly say that the Android handset will soon hit the stateside. The tipster said that the phone might arrive sometime in October and that Best Buy will be glad to take $50 as of September 13 if you want to pre-order it.
