Vonage Mobile VoIP App Gets Apple App Store Approval

It has been a very weird week for Apple as they approved some apps in bizarre fashion. First was Spotify (although there are other streaming apps at the App Store, even if this allows users to compile playlists offline), and now there’s Vonage for iPhone. Yesterday, Apple announced that they approved Vonage, a VoIP service which will be soon available at the App Store. The VoIP company said that it’s working with Apple at a number of issues and bug fixes that should be solved in the near future.

We first heard last week that Apple might approve Vonage Mobile App, but the VoIP iPhone app was upheld due to a bunch of technical issues with its Vonage software. Another weird thing is why Apple is helping Vonage as AT&T released a statement a while ago which said that the Cupertino-based company will not help any companies who are developing VoIP apps for the iPhone and iPod Touch.

Now that Vonage has been approved, we are waiting for the Google Voice Mobile app to receive the green light from Apple. Last summer (cause it’s fall now) Apple said that GVoice was duplicating features, but what is Vonage doing? However, Vonage is not yet available at the App Store and it may be restricted to WiFi use, but if this happens then we also want Google Voice to be approved. Let’s see what the FCC has to say about this.

You need to fix your story about the season. It’s still summer and not yet officially fall. Especially when your discussing the iPhone cuz AT&T and apple have yet to release mms which will not be available til late summer and will probably roll out next week cuz the end of summer is upon us bit not yet happen.
