Months ago even before the summer started we’ve seen pictures of a so-called Palm EOS which was later renamed into Pixie. This smartphone was rumored to feature WebOS and to hit AT&T very soon, but only 50% of that is true as Palm’s latest WebOS handset is going to Sprint right before the holidays. The Palm Pixie has been re-renamed into Pixi, and the specs look promising although the phone doesn’t come packed with WiFi.

Palm Pixi features a small 2.63-inch 320 x 400 capacitive display (we’re saying small because HTC said that the Tatto was too small to feature a capacitive display and the phone has a 2.8-inch display), 2-megapixel camera with flash, 8GB built-in memory, full QWERTY keyboard, EV-DO REV A, and of course, the stylish WebOS. The Pixi will be available in Q4 of 2009 at Sprint for $99, but Palm said that the price could drop.

Besides that the Palm Pixi will pack a 3.5mm headphone jack, 1150mAh removable battery, ringer on/off button, FaceBook, Yahoo! and LinkedIn integration with Synergy, Touchstone compatibility, Qualcomm MSM7627 processor, while Palm will also give users the possibility to choose between five artist-designed back covers from the Palm Pixi Artist Series.

Well, what do you think? This is the second WebOS-based smartphone and it’s small, thin, and looking good overall. It’s coming to Sprint for a small price, and if you have good reception from your carrier in your area then I don’t know why shouldn’t consider buying this smartphone as a Christmas gift.
