Google’s Monopoly City Streets is live and down already
Google has just launched Monopoly City Streets about 10 minutes ago and the spike of traffic took the servers down instantly, so it seems like nobody can get playing. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to buy a street and register, because of the outages.
Hopefully Google will do something about it so we will be able to play this game, because I’m sure that not just me, but a lot of people are very curious how is it.
Monopoly City Streets is a real estate simulation MMO, that everyone can play and every big street in the world can be bought. After that, you can build on it and get rent money. We will let you more about the game once their servers will be able to hold the amount of traffic, so we can try it.

You really should read up on the game you think your going to play. This is not made by Google their servers have absolutely nothing to do with this. If Google had been involved in hosting this the issues of this size would never have occurred.
So then… today has been a rather busy day to say the least. We appreciate your enthusiasm to try Monopoly City Streets. Thank you for your patience as we work behind the scenes to make the necessary changes to accommodate the traffic to the game.
We had planned for a lot of traffic on launch day and had been load testing the game – in fact, we’ve been testing and optimizing for a whole month. However, between the enthusiasm of Monopoly fans around the world, everyone who was excited to try out the new experience and non-stop mentions of the game on Twitter, blogs and everywhere else, our servers were overwhelmed. Based on the stats we have, we show a daily rate of about 1.7 million unique visitors, but the figure is likely far higher.
Please be patient as we work to make the necessary changes. In the meantime, if you’d like to help us design a building for the game, see an earlier posting about the SketchUp contest. And, if you’d like to follow us on Twitter, our official address is: MonopolyCitySts
Thank you again for your patience!
Exactly. It is NOT Google… it’s infuriating to see this false meme spread… it’s Hasbro… Google simply helped them use the Google maps… Blaming Google for this is like blaming Google for the thousands of applications out there that have issues and that use Google maps and Google earth.
I want to play the game alot. Anyone can send me an invitation? Thanks, Yong
