Apple Set To Release iPod Touch With A Camera In September 2010
As you probably know two days ago the Apple iPod Event 2009 took place, and it was one of the best ever with only one downside: the new iPod Touch G3 doesn’t feature a camera. CEO Steve Jobs said that the new iPoc Touch doesn’t feature a camera because the company wants to keep the costs down, and because the multimedia player is a great gaming device therefore it’s more appropiate for a gamer. The thing is that Apple made so much money with the App Store that it’s only thinking about the online store which now features more than 60,000 apps.
Things could change next year as multiple sources are claiming that Apple is working on an iPod Touch with camera. It is said that the Cupertino-based company has been developing the device since last year when Steve Jobs gave the OK. Also it seems like Jobs wanted to release the device with a camera this year, but there were severe problems with the sensor and the iPod Touch with a camera was pulled only one month ago.
Several inside sources say that Steve Jobs didn’t give up on the idea of an iPod Touch with a camera, a device which will be ready at the Apple iPod Event in September 2010. Allegedly the new iPod Touch “could happen without warning” and it will be available only for the 32GB and 64GB versions.
All I can say is that I was really disappointed to see that the iPod Touch didn’t receive a camera. Apple has just unveiled the new iPods and the rumors about next year’s gadgets already started. That’s just Apple. BTW how’s that Tablet doing?

i have been without an ipod for about a year now since my ipod nano 3rd generation went through the wash. I was just about ready to buy the new ipod touch, though disappointed that it had no camera. But now, after reading this article, I don’t know whether I should wait for the touch to gain a camera or not sometime in 2010… please leave a reply with advice on what I should do
Hi Bill,
Thank you for your comment. This is just a rumor. Although inside sources claim that Apple will release an iPod Touch with a camera sometime next year, you cannot put your money on that. If a camera is so important to you then you probably don’t need an iPod Touch. I advise you to buy an iPhone 3GS. Also you seem familiar with the iPod Nano and if the camera is not really that important you could try the iPod Nano G5. Here is what you should do: take a pencil and a paper. Write down what features do you want, and what device do you need, and then check what’s available on the market. Rumors are just rumors, facts are more important.
omg man i want one is it ruw are they realy going to do this
wow man
I would recommend waiting for the camera. A lot of people say if you want the camera so bad, just buy the iphone 3gs. The problem with that is if you do not want the plan, you will be paying 600-700 for the phone without the plan. which is definitely not worth it. If you do get the plan, that is not the cheapest thing either. I would take my chances and wait until next year.
I just want Apple to release a new iPod Touch with camera and internal microphone. Geeeeeeeez, it’s been almost two years since Apple has done anything really EXCITING to update the iPod Touch!
Come on Apple, stop wasting ALL YOUR TIME with the stupid iPad and get down to upgrading your CORE products ( Macs, iPhones, and iPod Touchs) …. otherwise myself and others will start looking to Google to buy our latest and more TECHNOLOGICAL products.
Apple is falling behind in its technology on the iPhone and the iPod Touch …. they just spent WAY TOOOOOOO MUCH of their time developing the iPad.
Get back to reality Apple!
make it have a camera that takes pics not video or have both please if u dont then thats to baad fo me
how much will it cost?
it’s also disappointing that you wont be able to get it in the 8GB version.
the 8 gb would be completely pointless seeing as the video and still images from the camera would take up too much room… moron.
