I don’t know if you’re bored or not, but the Apple tablet rumors are back and this time we actually have something. Well-established inside sources are reporting that Apple has placed orders to Taiwanese PC parts suppliers, meaning that they are adding the final touches to the tablet. According to the industry sources, Apple will get their supplies in December, while the Tablet will become available in February 2010.
The sources are very specific and they say that the Apple Tablet will feature a 9.6″ touchscreen (finger-touch function), built-in HSDPA, P.A. SEMI processor chip, and a long lasting battery, all for a starting price of $799. The long lasting batteries will be supplied in exclusivity by DynaPack which will provide 300,000 units thanks to the higher gross profits as Apple is looking to get huge profits from everywhere including the batteries.
The Taiwanese sources claim that 70% of the mini coaxial cables for the Apple Tablet will be supplied by Wanshih Electronic, while the power chokes and touch panels will be provided by Mag. Layers Scientific-Technics and Wintek.
Apparently the Apple Tablet could cost as much as $999, but maybe the Cupertino-based company will release two versions of the tablet, one of $799, and one of $999. Let’s see if the tablet is coming in February 2010, but we will have to wait about five months until then. Oh, I’m sure more rumors will surface anytime soon.
