Google Unveils The Letter Sent To FCC: Apple Did Reject Google Voice Mobile
When Apple rejected the Google Voice Mobile app, they knew that it’s going to be war. It was one of the dumbest things Apple has ever done. As a result of the rejection the FCC decided to ask questions, and when this happens, it’s bad. Very bad. The FCC asked AT&T, Apple, and Google to send the insights of the Google Voice Mobile app rejection from the App Store, and Google asked the FCC to “redact certain portions that involved sensitive commercial conversations between two companies.”
What’s the deal? Google and the FCC decided to publicize GOOG’s letter which is very interesting. A while ago Apple said that they didn’t reject Google Voice, they just didn’t approve it as they’re still studying it. Well, Google doesn’t think so as Phil Schiller called Alan Eustace (Google SVP) on July 7, and informed him that Apple is rejecting Google Voice because it’s duplicating features. There’s more: Apple also said that Google Latitude is duplicating features and that’s why it got rejected.
This is probably the most interesting war in the past few months. It’s definitely a war. Read my lips: this will be very interesting, and you should follow the links below where you can find the letter, and Google’s motivation for releasing the letter.
