Intel’s Core i7 is already dominating desktops and now it might move to laptops too. The new Quad-Core chips should come at intel’s Developers Conference next week, but they’ve been tested already by PC Pro and the guys there are really impressed.

PC Pro tested a Quad-Core 1.73Ghz i7-820QM Core i7 on a 4GB of DDR3 RAM, 5400rpm HDD, nVidia GeForce GT240M with 32-bit Windows Vista laptop and they are really impressed by the CPU.

It seems like the Core i7 almost matched a high-end Dell Precision M6400 laptop with a 2.53Ghz Core 2 Quad QX9300 with 8GB of DDR3, 7200rpm HDD and Nvidia Quadro FX 3700M graphics, running on a 64-bit Vista OS.

Along with it’s great performance, the new Core i7 is also good with power saving and heat and it may dominate the high-end laptops soon.
