BlackBerry Storm 2 9550 Coming To Best Buy and Verizon On October 25
The BlackBerry 9550 aka Storm 2 is one of the most expected smartphones in October. We know that it’s coming, we’ve seen it and it looks good. Although the original BlackBerry Storm was considered a failure, and I have to say it was, the smartphone was sold in millions of units and RIM is very pleased about that. Well, it’s about time we receive another Storm that is harder, better, faster, and stronger.
Thanks to one of BGR’s ninjas we know that Best Buy select locations are getting BlackBerry Storm 2 9550 dummies as of October 25th. Earlier this year we got our hands on some pictures which said that Verizon will sell the smartphone as of October 14th, but things have changed now. If Best Buy is getting dummy units on October 25th then we guess that Verizon is getting them too sometime around that date.
According to the ninja, Best Buy will sell the BlackBerry 9550 Storm 2 for $599 without a contract. If the Storm is actually a good phone with an improved OS and which looks as good as we’ve seen in a lot of YouTube videos then it’s definitely worth the amount. Touchscreen or not, it’s still a BlackBerry, you know?

Wow! Thank the lord I am up for a contract renewal and that is exactly why I am waiting for this phone right now, ever since I heard about it. I was originally going to get the Storm 1, but heard that the Storm 2 was coming out sooner than expected, so I am waiting this out. It looks a whole lot better than the 1st gen. and I am so excited! RIM has always had my trust and I have been positive about the new Smartphones they have released, although the Storm 1 was a disappointment, it was worth it because RIM got an idea of what to improve, as this was afterall their first touchscreen, and they accomplished it by making it “clickable.” I don’t see why everyone is cursing them because every new type of electronic device has its flaws, ALWAYS, and RIM realizes that and I am proud of them for that. When this device is released, I am camping out at my local Verizon Wireless store, just to make sure I am the FIRST person to buy this AMAZING phone!

Hey guys, i am a customer service rep for verizon and the date above is incorrect. the storm 2 will be shipped friday october 30th in the US. Also, for all those owners of the original storm that are so upset about the next gen coming out already, vzw is actually offering the storm 2 to storm 1 owners for $99.99, as long as you renew your contract which costs nothing, just your signature saying your locked in for 2 years from the day you get the storm 2.
I am also waiting for it.
Its time to renew my contract and I am still not sure if I should wait for the Storm or switch to another company.

NOT MINE!! On the other hand the iPhone is getting old.. I want to have the newest and coolest and if you want to be like that low life below me than wait it out and you decide.. I haven’t been a big fan of the iPhone although it is really neat and exciting.. It’s just become too popular and it’s like a normal phone everyone
has and I trust RIM on this new storm which I know will be breath taking to finally hold it and buy it and if I don’t like it well then I’ll buy the tour!! Not like I’m gonna be stuck with it for 2 years anyways.. But dude I’d wait for the storm it’s gonna rock!!

Just to let you all know, that inventory screen from Best Buy has been doctored to make it look like thats the screen for the 9550. I work at best buy and am looking at the same sku number and its for a verizon mock phone. Not the storm 9550 like it says. Not saying that its not coming out on that date, but dont base anything on that screen shot above.
I’ve waited long for this phone. My wife and I didn’t want to switch to AT&T for the iPhone. I did get an iPod touch, which I think is awesome. My contract renewal is in a couple of weeks and I am gonna go for the Storm 2. It better have WIFI though. Looking foward to the release, but I wouldn’t camp out for anything in this world. Patience. It will be there eventually.
