Months ago when Nokia and Intel reached an agreement, the first company said that it won’t launch a netbook. We all knew that was a big fat lie and it was quickly proven as the Finnish-based company introduced the Booklet 3G weeks after the announcement. The Nokia Booklet 3G doesn’t bring anything new. Personally, I think that the netbook era is over and we’re now heading towards a new age: the tablet age, but we’re going to discuss this later in another post.
Until now we didn’t have details about pricing or availability, but it’s all coming together now as Nokia officially announced that the Booklet 3G is coming to O2 on October 22, and users can pick between two purchase programs. The first one is called O2 MyHandy and users will have to pay €249 and €20 per month for two years, while the second is called O2 wireless service and it will see users pay the €249 upfront and €25 per month for two years.
That’s awfully expensive and who’s gonna buy something that can be found cheaper? Because it’s a Nokia? No way, that’s the first time they deliver a netbook. What would make me pay about €750 for another netbook that I can buy for €250? It’s beyond me…
