Today is October 14th and we should have heard news about the BlackBerry Storm 2, however, there’s nothing new and that smartphone is not available anywhere. I guess that’s just life, however, we’re expecting some news soon as users are reporting that the BlackBerry 9550 will become available at Verizon on October 17th, but we all know that anybody can say anything including that he/she has spoken with a Verizon employee who knows his game.

One of our readers who is working as a Verizon customer service rep says that the BlackBerry Storm 2 is going to be shipped Friday, October 30th, and that Verizon subscribers who have the original Storm will only have to pay $99, if they renew their contract for two years.

From my experience with the Storm, I can tell you that this phone was probably the worst BlackBerry smartphone ever. There are so many issues with this phone that you can’t even imagine, and I’d advise you to think twice before buying it.

Previously we’ve seen pictures of a Best Buy inventory which said that the BlackBerry 9550 Storm 2 dummies are hitting the retailer on October 25th, and the information also said that Verizon is getting them, however, a bunch of inside sources are saying that Verizon reps are already testing the smartphone.

We can’t be sure about that as this is the Internet and most of us don’t take it too seriously, but we’ll consider that we’re all geeks and that we’re not messing around with each other. Each piece of information says that the BlackBerry Storm 2 9550 will be shipping in October, the month of smartphones and we’d say that we only have to wait a couple of more weeks before we see RIM’s second-gen touchscreen handheld.
