If you are familiar with cellphones and software then you know that Google has been naming their Android OS versions after desserts. Android 1.5 was named Cupcake, Android 1.6 Donut, while Android 2.0 will be called Eclair. Each time when the release of the first two software, Google has been placing giant desserts in front of the company where you can also find a giant Android. Well, Google has now delivered a giant Eclair which also has chocolate syrup on top, but that’s not really important. The thing is that now the rumors can being and we can say that Google is going to deliver Android 2.0 Eclair to the developers very soon.
A few weeks ago Motorola unveiled the Cliq, the company’s first Android-powered smartphone. The catch is that for months we’ve seen rumors of a so-called Motorola Sholes, another Android-based Moto, and industry sources claim that the phone will be unveiled by the end of the month. If it doesn’t seem that important, then you should know that the Motorola Sholes will be the first Android 2.0 Eclair-based handset in the world so if it’s coming by the end of October, then Android 2.0 is coming by the end of the month.
The Motorola Sholes was codenamed Droid and Tao, but we’re going with the Droid name because it just misses an “an” from Android. The video below shows a bunch of probably Google employees, and the video was taken with an Android-powered phone. What if the video was taken with the aforementioned Motorola Sholes? That’s good marketing.
