Talks of an Android-powered Acer smartphone have been around for months, but every good thing requires a little patience. At the end of the post you can find pictures of the first Acer smartphone in the world as well as screenshots of the Acer-customized UI which is not as cool as the HTC Sense, but we dig it. Acer’s handset is powered by Android 1.6 Donut, and it’s called A1 Liquid. So far the specs of the Acer A1 Liquid remained unknown, however, we’ll have to thank our Italian friends, HDBlog.it, for delivering the goods.

Here is a list of Acer’s A1 Liquid Android smartphone most important specs: 3.5-inch WVGA 800×480 capacitive touchscree, 1GHz Snapdragon processor, 256MB RAM, 512MB ROM, quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE, tri-band UMTS, WiFi 802.11b/g, Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR, built-in A-GPS, 5-megapixel camera with autofocus, 3.5mm headset jack, accelerometer, light sensor, and a 1,350mAh battery which provides up to 6 hours of talk time using GSM.

Android-powered Acer A1 Liquid measures 115 x 64 x 12.43mm, while weighing 135 grams, and we have to say that it’s definitely going to be a competitor with the big guys like the iPhone 3GS, HTC HD2, HTC Hero, Nokia N900, and the BlackBerry Storm 2. Even if we’re looking at just a few pictures, the Acer’s UI with social networking integration is promising and we cannot wait for the day when the Liquid A1 will be officially unveiled. Check out the pictures below and let us know what do you think!
