Sony released the new Vaio P Series Lifestyle PC

Weighing only 635 grams and having a wide 8” display, the new model from Sony is noticed by an attractive design and a compact format. As Sony says it is “Built to inspire”, and is a notebook that gets noticed. Powered by an Atom 1, 33 GHz processor, the new Vaio P Series has preinstalled Windows Vista Premium or Basic version, and more recently the Windows 7 Premium version.

Other specs includes: 2GB of RAM, and optionally, an SSD 128Gb drive or a 60 GB HDD.

The standard Li-Ion battery that comes with the laptop is said to have autonomy of four hours, extendable to eight hours by using the optional battery, with an increased capacity.

The 8” display is powered by the LED technology and offers a very good resolution in compare with its size, a resolution of 1600×768 pixels. The network connectivity is ensured by a 3G WWAN and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g interface. Other types of connectivity are Bluetooth adapter and a GPS navigation module.

aio P series has incorporated the “instant-on” technology, capable of starting the system very fast in the Sony Xross Media Bar interface, for quick access to instant messaging and e-mail clients.

There are five different versions of the Vaio P series Lifestyle PC, with the case in shades of garnett red, onyx black, emerald green, crystal white and gold and is priced at 900$.
