The Blackberry Smartwatch is not a Blackberry and not much of a smartwatch, a slight confusion is accepted
I want to make this absolutely clear from the beginning in order to avoid unwanted reactions, the Smartwatch is not being made by/for BlackBerry, and thus it won’t feature a BlackBerry logo, but is being made for use with BlackBerry Smartphones, so in a more suitable definition it is actually an Accessory. But I don’t mean to diminish its importance in anyway, it is in fact a wonderful gadget that will probably come in handy in many situations. It is NOT a standalone smartwatch having most of its functionality when paired with a Blackberry phone.
And because I started so abruptly I must tell you that the ”smartwatch” has been mainly designed to show you notifications and previews of messages arriving on your BlackBerry in those times when your actual RIM-phone is tucked away in a suitcase(think “meetings” and “no-fuss”) or you just cannot check your messages properly. You get the idea.
The watch is equipped with an OLED screen that has been described as being “big, bright and beautiful” and the overall look of the phone is, as you can judge by yourself, pretty stylish with what looks to be a chromed frontplate.
We are hoping for more info on this Blackberry accessory as soon as possible.
