Windows 7 is smoking hot! Windows 7 is the greatest! Windows 7 is the best! Windows 7 means pre-orders record! Wait, what? Amazon UK has officially announced that Windows 7 has set a record of pre-orders meaning that computer users really trust Microsoft on this one which weird after the previous fails of the Redmond-based software maker. The previous pre-orders record was held by Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, a very successful book written by the one and only J.K. Rowling.

We don’t know of the woman-writer of the Harry Potter series is disappointed by the loss of the record, but I’m sure that Steve Ballmer is proud of what he achieved in Europe, right under the nose of the European Commission. I think it’s time for EU lay low on Microsoft and let them to their job.

On a side note here is another interesting fact: Windows 7 was made available in July, and in the first eight hours more users pre-ordered Se7en than all the pre-ordered copies of Windows Vista. Weird? I think not, considering Vista’s fail. However, I think Vista played a big role for Windows 7 at least in terms of design because (let’s face it) Windows XP is uglier than a wrinkled goblin.
