Venezuela has been hit by an earthquake with a magnitude of 6.4 injuring 14 people and damaging a few building. Fortunately no deaths have been reported and the damages are minimal.
The U.S. Geological Survey reported the earthquake that shook Caracas had a magnitude of 6.4 and had the epicenter 65 miles west of Caracas, on Venezuela’s Caribbean coast. According to Francisco Garces, an aftershock with a magnitude of 4.0 followed the earthquake. Also, he only registered a magnitude of 6.2.
12 people suffered only minor injuries, while two suffered severe leg injuries, aged 9, and respectively 26, according to Tareck El Aissami, Venezuela’s Justice Minister. Two houses were damaged near Lara state and a medical clinic’s wall collapsed, Hector Vargas said. Along with that, other seven houses faced minor damages in the area.

The earthquake shook Caracas at about 3.40 p.m. EDT and only a few people left their buildings and stayed outside, in a rainstorm. The traffic was also slown down due to the rainstorm.
The national civil protection agency will now investigate a few buildings to see if their structure has been damaged by the earthquake.
