Toyota Prius Recall February 2010 Includes Lexus HS250h – Faulty Brakes Caused By Software Bug
Toyota has officially announced that it will recall 437,000 Prius hybrid units around the world in order to make adjustments that will fix the brake issues. The reputation of one of the largest automakers in the world has been damaged in the past few months due to the many record recalls to multiple cars models worldwide. Toyota will recall Prius hybrid cars and Lexus hybrid cars in the US, Europe and other parts of the globe, but this recall is not related with the seven million recall for car models with faulty gas pedals and faulty floor mats.
Toyota’s President admitted that the car maker can make mistakes because it’s not an “infallible company” and that it will correct the problems. Also Akio Toyoda added that the company will double its efforts in order to remind everyone that its lifeline is “quality.” Among the models that will be recalled we can find the Toyota Prius and the Lexus HS250h. Apparently, the problems with the braking system have been caused by a software bug. It’s a good thing that Toyota has recalled the car models as owners have already reported car accidents caused by the faulty brakes. I’m sure that Toyota will bounce back anytime soon and will deliver high quality and very safe cars.
