The Canon EOS 7D has just been released and it really needs to have some attractive features to steal a big piece of Sony and Nikon’s market’s share. And it does, with a 18 megapixel sensor  and 1% magnification that shows the full frame, while the EOS 50D only shows 95% of it.

It’s powered by dual DIGIC 4 processors and it features a new shutter system able to capture 8 pictures per second. A new AF system is also included in the new EOS 7D. More external controls are placed on the camera, which is able to capture 1,920 x 1,080 pixels 1080p HD video at 30 frames per second.

The Canon EOS 7D body is priced at $1,699, but for $1,899 you can get the body plus the EF 25-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM zoom lens. Unfortunately you can try it for yourself yet, being available as of the end of September.
